Freesound is Plymouth Arts Centre’s temporary radio station and a platform for the voice of Plymouth. The Station was founded in 2007 when it was presented as part of the Exhibition Rush Hour at Plymouth Arts Centre. Each year the station has a focus or a theme and provides a vehicle for the work of Plymouth based musicians, DJ’s and artists as well as any Plymouth citizens who wish to contribute.

Freesound is broadcast on 87.9fm and can heard throughout the Plymouth area, the radio content is also steamed on line and can be listened by clicking listen at the top of this page.

This year, Freesound will be on air for eight days, 22 October  - 29 October, broadcasting from one of seven Plymouth neighbourhoods each day as the focus for a multilayered project titled Lifting the Fog. The final day of transmission will feature the best of each of the community days.
